Holiday Season

Holiday Spirit is
A few strings of lights
On tree and windows--
Nighttime delights.

Holiday Anticipation is
Stockings' surprise
On the mantel--
Growing in size.

Holiday Sound is
My lil violinists bowing
"Jingle Bells" on stage--
Their music flowing.

Holiday Scent is
Fresh Frasier pine
Adorn with ornaments--
A fragrance divine.

Holiday Love is
Greetings via cards
From friends afar--
Sending their regards.

Holiday Joy is
Time with family
Eating, laughing, playing--
Fiercely, wholly, deeply.

  1. Beautiful poem, Sandra! Holiday spirit means many of the same things in my heart - mostly having to do with family and time we spend together (no violins in our house, though :))

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by! Violin music because the kiddos have just performed in their holiday concert... which means I have been hearing Christmas music for the past 6 weeks! I'm "Jingle Belled" to death, haha! It just struck me how amazing it was to put up a few strands of lights--they really bring out the holiday spirit!! Happy Holidays to you and your family, Janna!
